As I've been updating my blog, I've been baking an apple pie. Now the blog is updated and the pie is done so I'm off to go enjoy a piece. Of course it will be pretty small since I'm losing weight and don't want to pack it back on.
Vick realizes that Daddy is gone during the day now and gets rather upset when he leaves. Pretty much each morning she will go into his closet and grab his shoes. Today was the day to try them on.
Its been hell dealing with everyone being sick. Even my MIL who came to help out with the girls ended up getting sick with the stomach flu. Now it seems that the stomach flu has morphed into a nasty cold. Oh joy.
The girls needed a break so we went outside to the relax on the swing for a little bit. Vicki is still in her jammies. Keep in mind, both girls have a raging ear infection at this point but we don't know that yet.
Hey this was cool. I went outside early to see how the weather was and I was greeted by the sound of a woodpecker going to town on the utility pole right there. Pretty cool. I was watching the 2 of them interact with each other. Quite a dance of some sort. I've never seen a woodpecker before so it was pretty cool for me!
Sami gets glued to the TV (just like her father, I might add) and likes to stand really close to it. I've taken to putting their toy baskets in front of the TV so she can't just stand there and watch. LOL. I turn the corner and she's standing IN the basket. Nice!!
OK, so the girls were pretty cranky so we tried washing dishes and they got along and had fun. Vicki is washing and Sami is rinsing. The second pic is more the reality of what they do- Vicki with the sponge inches away from her tongue to taste the bubbles and Sami with her arm in Vicki's tub of bubbly water. LOL! I think its time to get a kitchen set of their own too.
We bought a swingset cheap off of craigslist and had to go to their house and disassemble it. The man was nice and offered his truck to transport it back to our house. Here it is waiting for Sean to come home from the fire dept so we can put it together. Its got a slide, a swing-n-slide, and 2 swings. :)
We were getting ready to go out and as I was strapping Sami in, I put Vicki in the car so she wouldn't wander off (2 days prior to this, I was strapping Vicki in and Sami was 2 houses down on the sidewalk- thus the DRASTIC change in protocol! YIKES!!) Well, of course, my little techie popped right over to the drivers seat. She cracks me up. I think she could live Uncle Dave's Nascar dream!
We've been living here for 2 months now and I've seen one of our cats go outside but usually its at night. Well, here's Hook outside up on the back wall near the fence and the orange tree. Now, if I can get the other cat to go outside and not sleep in my closet all day long!!
I finally got some shots of the hummingbirds. I've noticed a third one now. He's got a red head and is just cute as a button. The girls adore watching the birds too. I used the sports function on the camera to get the shot. I just LOVE it!!
So I busted out the camera b/c I fully intended on capturing my little hummingbirds to post here but Sami immediately started yelling at me an pointing to the camera that she wanted her own little photo shoot. I thought she'd be all cute- big girl sitting at the table drawing on her paper but NO, she's puffing her chest out, tossing her head back, smiling and batting her eyelashes at me. Too funny. I think she's going to be my little girly girl diva. Now if she would just leave in the mini ponytails that I've put in her hair..........
So I'm in the middle of making my chili and realize that I'm out of chili powder. I decide to pack the girls up in the car for our trip to get it. I also decided to leave Cooper in the backyard since its fully fenced in and he can survive just fine for the half hour I'm gone. I come back and this is what he was doing to the gate. GRRRR again but this time its the dog who is in the doghouse!
Damn time change!! I was on east coast time then came back to the west coast then had a time change. I'm not sure if I should be hungry or tired. GRRR!!! And don't even get me started on the girls time schedule!
We went to a birthday party for an old neighbor of Sean's. Her little boy turned 3 so they had a pirate theme with all kinds of fun. I took this standing inside her house looking out to the patio area where they had the pinata. Sami thought it was pretty cool. Meanwhile Vicki was inside playing with the balloons and the little boys table train set.
LOL- no pic for yesterday but here it is on travel day and Sean got this great shot from his seat on the plane. Sami was loving the airport and the planes but each time she saw one she exclaimed "Uh-oh" which gets OLD FAST!
Today my sisters and I went to the salon for a girls day. Colleen and I got ours cut and colored. Kelly and I got waxed. It was fun all around. We went to lunch. The biggest thing was getting my hair cut b/c I'm donating my hair to Locks of Love. It was a big moment for me PLUS I did a whole makeover change thing. From frumpy mom to hip and cool!! Yay. I feel so good and have really easy hair to style now. Which rocks since I don't have time to stand and primp in front of a mirror.
Today we are hanging out with the whole family under 1 roof which hasn't happened in a long time. The girls are just super happy getting all this love and attention and are definitely milking it for EVERYTHING!! :)
No picture for yesterday b/c we spent the day traveling.
