A friend of mine sent me a package for mother's day. She sent a foot pedicure set and it is awesome!! LOVED it!! Used the sea salt scrub before I had finished unpacking it all. LOL!

Mother's Day -- May 10, 2009

After a long and craptastically difficult day by myself with the girls, I needed some "me" time and my vegetable garden needed some "me" time too. I weeded and transplanted some of the seedlings that actually grew from the seeds I planted. I ended up buying more seedlings at the store b/c I wasn't seeing anything grow from the seeds I had planted. Regardless, the purchased seedlings are doing well and the few seedlings I did get from seed are all doing well too. All looks well and happy.

On a side note, this is for you Auntie Kelly-- Yes, operation room darkening must occur. Why you ask? Well, as I was out weeding, I heard Vicki thru the open window- "doggie" "momma" Apparently she can see out the window thru the edges of the blinds. Yes, operation room darkening must occur.

I can't believe they like my chili- its insanely hot and they ate it up!! Granted, they sucked down milk like there were no more cows in the world but still, they ate it up!! I am going to regret diaper changes in the next 2 days but oh well, its something they will both eat. (Vicki is THE PICKIEST eater EVER!!)

Pool fun -- May 8, 2009

We set up the new kiddie pool on our patio and the girls LOVED it (especially since it was hot in the afternoon) We splashed and stomped and did ring around the rosy. A good time was had by all! (This pic was taken on May 10, 2009 b/c I don't have the energy to upload the video then create a still then upload the still here etc etc etc)

Books and more books -- May 7, 2009

I pulled out a few new books we got from their cousin (Thank you Jared) and it started this new firestorm in Sami. Each day she's been pulling out more and more books and handing them to me or Sean or just sitting on the floor looking at them. She even wants to have a book in hand in the carseat --- all the time now. Cool!! I know she's taking it all in like a sponge -- just wish she would start repeating more of the words.

Cuddly cat -- May 6, 2009

This is our other cat- Hook- the short hair love- cuddled up with Sean. It was just too cute to not take the picture. Yes, Hook and Ladder are brothers from the same litter proving that not all twins are identical!!

Happy Anniversary and Cinco de Mayo -- May 5, 2009

7 years ago today Sean and I tied the knot. woooohooo!!! We got each other cards and he gave me some roses. We are planning a date night but our mother's helper has the flu so we will wait until next week to do it.

Cat in the hat, well, almost -- May 4, 2009

Our cat Ladder- a black fluff ball- likes to sleep all day in hiding in our closet up on top of the shelf so the girls can't find him and torture him. Today we found him in a new spot here in the cubby just up from the floor and my shoes-- just laying on my pants (and I think one of my skirts too) taking in the view. We always leave the door a little bit open so he can come and go but today, it was pretty wide open and he was within hands reach of the girls. Either he lost his mind for a while (just like the good Dr Seuss) or he was pretty daring and not too fearful of the girls (yes, that is Sami's wild hair in the foreground)

Thanks Burger King -- May 3, 2009

We got a Spongebob Squarepants toy in the kids meal at Burger King. They didn't know what it was so I put it on the TV. Sami was all kinds of interested b/c she had the toy IRL and could see the cartoon on TV. She got up on the box of books and held little square pants up to the TV.

And that's the last they have seen of spongey- Not in this house baby!!

Pretty Hair --May 2, 2009

We were supposed to go to another Twins club picnic but it was cancelled due to rain and swine flu. But, we did have fun getting dressed. Both girls let me put stuff in their hair- granted it was only in long enough to get the picture but hey, 5 seconds is progress. I'm super happy that I can now put a barrette in Vicki's hair b/c I am SOOOOOO tired of people assuming and telling me to my face that she looks like a boy. Umm... she's a spitting image of me so does that mean I look like a boy too?? Someone might want to let Sean know he's married to a woman who looks like a man. But I digress....... She looks pretty cute with hair do-dads anyway so I'm going to start a little each day and eventually she'll leave it alone. :)

May Day -- May 1, 2009

The Princess chairs have now become lounge chairs!! Its in the evening just before bedtime. The girls haven't eaten much for dinner and keep waking super early in the am (maybe b/c they are hungry??) so I'm trying to give them a yogurt snack after their milk to hold them over longer. (Mommy needs sleep!!) They were both pretty energetic so we knew that they needed to get out some of that before bed. Well, it turned into a lounge back as far as you can until the chair topples backwards and laugh HYSTERICALLY about it. It was fun and no, noone got injured in any way.

Who's your Daddy -- April 30, 2009

Sami was sitting on my lap when I took this picture. She was pretty interested in the camera and I was trying to get her to push the shutter release. She was more interested in looking at the pics on the camera. Sean just happened to walk into the room as I was showing Sami the release. We took daddy's picture but she was more excited that he was around. They have been very very aware of him being gone at the fire dept and then also gone each daytime for work. So this was a delight in her world to see daddy again.
